On Monday, September 24th, Rivers Elementary School held their ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE evening, complete with a PANCAKE & SAUSAGE COMMUNITY SUPPER.

Supper was free of charge, however, donations to our Breakfast Program were greatly appreciated.

Following the supper, parents toured their child(ren)’s classroom(s), met with teachers and looked at work that was being done at their grade level(s), etc.

A large number of parents, guardians, grandparents, and community members also attended Rivers Elementary’s Annual Fall Book Fair.  The Book Fair ran September 24 and 25 in the evening and September 26 and 27 in the afternoon.

We were very pleased with this year’s turn out for the Open House and excited to report that sales at the Book Fair exceeded $2400.00 (plus an additional $1260.00 purchased by teachers for their classrooms).  This means that over $1180.00 remains in our Main Library for further purchases of new books!!  Mrs. Common would like to thank the volunteers who helped out at the Book Fair: Mrs. McMurachy, Mr. Common, and Jillian and Andrew Hamm.

We would like to extend a thank you to all students, parents, guardians, grandparents and community members who came out for this most worthwhile evening.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to the Rivers and Area Lions Club who came out and helped to make and cook the pancakes for this event, and to Mrs. Maxwell at RCI, whose students cooked the sausages ahead of time for us.
