S.T.E.M. CHALLENGE

Students at Rivers Elementary School participated in a S.T.E.M. Challenge (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Each group had to pretend they had been hired to build a model of a new playground for the school. The students were to use recyclable products to create scale models of what they envisioned for a new play area at RES. The students met as whole groups to first discuss and plan for their projects. Then they met again on March 13 to put all of the aspects of their planning into actual design. Completed project models can be viewed in the RES gymnasium throughout the day on Friday March 16 Parent Teacher Interview Day.
Students and staff want to extend a special thank you to the Rivers and Area Community Foundation for providing grant money to make this activity a success.
